Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978 was the son of Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her mother and father have both been Puerto Ricans. Her birthplace was in Queens. She and her family moved from Queens in New York, to the Dominican Republic when she was 10-years-old; they stayed in the Dominican Republic for 7 years. Zoe discovered a love for dancing while in Dominican Republic. She started her training at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was able to study dance and various forms of dancing.
