April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US, is among a select category of females who have had medals won in several Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with April Ross in Tokyo for her third gold medal over the next few days. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. It may well be that she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross on NBC Boston, said that when the team performs consistently or well they can earn a gold. That's why I'm taking some luck also. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister were residents in the area. She was able to participate in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. When she played in the final sport she stood out. According to her bio, during high school she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). She was awarded one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999 for her achievements. In 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Even though Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time player on the beach scene prior to their team. In reality, she's had numerous big wins as well as one of her partners was a volleyball superstar. From 2007 until 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who won the world title with Kessy in 2009 was also a major force on an international level. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she announced her retirement. They went on to earn bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college the years prior to her professional career. The time she spent at USC was impressive. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year awards and earned an All-American. Her Trojans made it to the Final Four. The Trojans were devastated through a tragedy in her life during her second year, but she went on to be an All-American once more. The last two years as a member of the Trojans in the program, she led them to victories by winning successive national titles. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in America according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross majored in the field of international relations in USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie was not able to witness her daughter ascend to the top levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. Also, Margie continues to be an inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
